Overview

This policy explains what information The Weekly Timekeeper collects from visitors and members, how it is used, and the choices you have about it. The Weekly Timekeeper is operated by a business licensed with the Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) in the United Arab Emirates. By using this site, you agree to the practices described here.

Information We Collect

When you subscribe to the newsletter, create an account, or contact us, we collect the information you provide directly, such as your name and email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive the basic profile information Google shares for that purpose.

When you submit an inquiry through the Concierge Desk, we collect what you provide to evaluate it — such as your name, email, phone number, whether you are buying or selling, your budget, the watch and its condition, and an optional photo you upload. This information is only visible to our team and is used to respond to your inquiry.

Once paid subscriptions launch, our payment provider will handle and store your payment details directly. We do not see or store full card numbers ourselves.

We also collect basic technical information automatically, such as browser type and general usage patterns, to keep the site working properly and to understand which content is useful. We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in — we do not currently use advertising or behavioral tracking cookies.

How We Use Information

We use your information to send the newsletter and other emails you sign up for, operate your account, respond to Concierge Desk inquiries and other messages, process payments once that feature launches, and improve the site.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Third Party Services

We rely on outside services to run the site: a hosted database provider for storing accounts, content, and Concierge Desk inquiries (including uploaded photos, kept in a private, access-restricted location); an email delivery service for the newsletter and account emails; and a hosting provider for the site itself. In the future we will also use a payment processor for subscriptions. Each of these providers only receives the information needed to perform its function.

Data Retention and Security

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, including Concierge Desk inquiries, and we take reasonable steps to protect it — Concierge Desk photos and details are stored in a private location accessible only to our team, not publicly. No online service can guarantee complete security, so we cannot promise information will never be accessed or disclosed by accident or through wrongdoing.

Your Choices

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in those emails, update your account details from your account page, or contact us to request that we delete your information, including a past Concierge Desk inquiry and any photo attached to it, subject to what we are required to keep for legal or accounting reasons.

Children

This site is intended for adults working in or following the watch trade. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Governing Law

This policy is governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any dispute arising from this policy is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ras Al Khaimah, UAE.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the site and its features change. We will update the date at the top of this page when we do.
